The ascent starts from the Nid du Aigle station (2372 m), which can be reached by the Bellevue cable car from the village of Les Houches, and then by the Tramway du Mont-Blanc.
From the station, the trail leads to the hut Refuge du Tete Rousse (3167 m). The ascent to the hut usually takes no more than 3 hours, the difference in altitude will be: +795 m.
If the Tramway du Mont-Blanc is closed (usually this happens until mid-June and after mid-September),
then on this day, from the Bellevue cable car station (1750 m) we walk up.
In this case, the road to the Refuge du Tete Rousse (3167 m) will take 4 hours, and the difference in altitude will be: +1417 m.
Near the hut we rest, have lunch, and then continue climb up.
From this point we tie ourselves with a rope. We climb together.
The further ascent to the Refuge du Gouter (3835 m) is first on snow and then on simple rocks, partly equipped with metal cables.
This ascent usually takes 3 hours maximum. Elevation gain: +668m.
