  На сегодняшний день является единственным представителем из России, имеющим международный диплом Профессионального Гида UIAGM.
  С осени 2002 года входит в международную ассоциацию горных гидов.

Ascents:Mt. Dhaulagiri 8167m. New route on the West Face in alpine style. :

April 18 – Valery and Nikolay started to climb a new route of Dhaulagiri.

This new route will go on the west ridge of Dhaulagiri. Nobody ever tried to climb this difficult but very elegant ridge which sharply rises like 1.5km bastion above the “Italian Base Camp” at 3700 m.

The route starts at 3700 m and ends at 8167 m.

At 7600 m, the new route will join to the Japanese route of 1982 which goes all the way to the top of Dhaulagiri.

Valery and Nikolay assume it will take up to 7-8 days.

They are planning to descent along the classical route (north-east ridge).

This ascent will be made in a light alpine style, without any fixed ropes and established intermediate camps.
