<…Today is a second day of our trip. We
came to Karimabad.
On May 24, we left Islamabad at 6 a.m. We were so happy that our luggage was not
lost on our way to Pakistan because it happened so many times with my friends.
We arrived to Islamabad at 6:30 a.m.
We had a very tight schedule that day,
but we have done everything we wanted to.
At first, we had a Briefing in Alpine
Pakistan club, and then we went to get food for our expedition.
After that we met with the director of
the travel agency, Nazir Sabir. As well, we met with our cook who has a lot of
experience of working in the expeditions.
Our day ended with a small dinner at the
local restaurant.
At the same time there was another Russian expedition on K-2 with my friends in
it, but unfortunately I couldn’t meet with them because of our tight schedule.
May 24: we left Islamabad and spent 14 hours on the bus heading to a little
village called Chilas.
May 25: we left Chilas at 5 a.m. and
arrived to Karimabad at 3 p.m. From there we could see Mt.Ultar (7400m ) and
Mt.Rakaposhi (7787m). We bought the rest of the food in Karimabad.
May 26: we arrived to a village called
Hispar (3000 m).
May 27: We are ready to start our trip
to the Base Camp Kuniang Chhish East which will take us two days. There are 30
more porters with us.
So far the weather is great and we are
very excited to start our expedition…>
