We congratulate Valeri with the official guide certificate. He graduated the ENSA in Chamonix, France. Now he can work as a guide everywhere in Europe. He is the first Russian climber who did it!
Olga and Valeri BABANOV start to Delhi today. Then they will fly to Kathmandu where they spend about 4 days, till the weekend and after that have a plane to Lukla.
This expedition Valeri again has a satellite phone provided by one of his sponsors - BASK company (Moscow). But because of the problems with satellite provider Valeri can only call by the phone, so this expedition we will have no mail reports from him.
After Lukla a small team consists from Olga and Valeri have a 5-6 days trekking to base camp. 1-2 days they will establish camp and have a rest. Then Valeri plans to fix ropes - about 500-600 meters in the beginning of route. In this part route is very difficult and to have enough store of stability Valeri decided to fix this part. He has extra ropes for this aim.
If there would be the expedition to Everest, he plans for acclimatising to come up to 600-6500m. If possible to have a night at Camp III, at the altitude 7200- 7600 m. So, maybe he moves during 2 days to Everest BC, then up to South Col (there is no goal to reach the Col, but make ascent as high as possible). After that Valeri plans to go down to Nuptse camp and after several days of rest to start the route.
The ascent plans to be started at October 18th, because this is the full moon time, so the weather will be more stable. it take him 5-8 days to make the ascent.
