From Valeri’s phone call, “… It has been snowing for two days now.
On April 17, we left the small village Kharta, which located at height 4000 m. Because of the weather, we managed to move from Kharta just for 3.5 hours.
To make our way to the Base Camp, we have to travel through the Shau La pass, which altitude is 4900 m.
Due to the bad weather conditions, caravan of yaks was not able to overpass the Shau La, so a yak man and a liaison officer had to come back to the village.
