  Валерий Бабанов закончил Французскую школу гидов ENSA в Шамони.
  На сегодняшний день является единственным представителем из России, имеющим международный диплом Профессионального Гида UIAGM.
  С осени 2002 года входит в международную ассоциацию горных гидов.

April 12, from Valery’s phone call:

«Today we came down to the Base Camp at 4700 m. Before that, Nikolay and I climbed up to the 7100 m.

Martin Minarik also reached the same altitude. It was very windy, about 80 km/hr, during the night that we spent at 7100 m. Spanish team set an advance Base Camp at 5600 m.

April 13 – we are going back to our Base Camp at 3700 m for the rest and preparation for the climbing. The acclimatization process is over.

It is the most important for us now to wait for the good weather conditions that are required for climbing. »
